Hair Dr. Shin (English)

I’m experienced in the dining industry and world of art design, but my heart has always been in the universe of hair salons. Since I was little, I have always thought that a hair salon is a great place that has the power to bring out people’s beauty.  Unfortunately, most of the perceived beauty created by a visit to a hair salon is short-lasting, being held together temporarily by the styling done with hairspray and a hairdryer.  The short-lived reality of the style becomes apparent when clients wash and blow-dry their hair at home.  They start to realize there’s something wrong when they discover that their hair styles don’t suit their job, clothing, body and face, or perhaps their lovers don’t like it.

Is it possible to get a more suitable and long-lasting style by spending more money? How about the perfect style for you?

So, what’s the difference between spending $35 and $70 on a haircut?

What’s the difference between spending $50 and $200 on a perm?

If people don’t like to all wear the same clothes or shoes and the carry bags and so on, why do so many people have the same hair style?

There’s a Chinese idiom that says when you pull one hair, you move the whole body, which means what happens to a small part may affect the whole.  So, before I go about designing a style, I must first understand the person. Only then can I begin to do his/her hair.  After working on the basics, I go about developing a deeper design – by really looking at the person, understanding the person, analyzing the person, taking pictures of the person and only then can I customize a distinctive look for that person. The style is the person, and the person is the style.

As a stylist, I must be attuned to beauty and self-expression and be acutely aware of factors such as the ideal hair shape and length for each individual client. I’ve needed to self-implant within me, an aesthetic gene that forces me to constantly pursue perfection.

A woman’s beauty is often not only for herself, but also for her man. And most men, don’t understand what women are thinking.  So, before working on a design, I’ll make sure I know my client’s living environment, habits, values, work, age and personal traits as well.

In general, I tend to ponder on these factors more for married and single female clients.

The correct style is able to recognize and express a woman’s exclusive inner beauty allowing her to be herself in the truest, most confident sense. While, I think I know what woman tend to like, I certainly know what strikes a man, as I am one!  A hair style design is not only for the client herself / himself, but also often for that person’s other half, and there are many other factors to consider as well.

I’m famous in Taiwan for inventing the Stand & Cut technique- an important practice I’ve been promoting for a long time. Indeed, this technique has attracted the attention of the media bringing me onto Taiwanese television. I ask my clients to STAND while cutting their hair, then I check the proportion of the whole body from a distance, and trim down the hair structure with a closer look.  A well integrated design requires all-inclusive contemplation and also a precise, yet fast technique because a customer can’t stand for too long.

I think every level has its own definition of beauty and handsomeness and that’s why I always take the time to find out a client’s taste. Defining and creating the perfect style, doing makeovers and making my clients vibrant and confident are the biggest pleasures I get from this passion others call a job.  As for beauty, this requires continuity and convenience.  If you consider and calculate each cut, you can make a style that’s unique, long-lasting, easily self-styleable, and beautiful. The more you look at it, the prettier it appears!  However, such a foresighted approach is seldom taken toward hair designs.

Those clients who live overseas and travel for long periods or even have financial problems all know about that.  You can be both gorgeous and stylish, while having it last longer than you expect!  As time goes by, you’ll see different aspects of beauty in different stages as the style unfolds!  Isn’t this what everyone wishes for from a good design?

Before opening my salon, I had very little time to sort out my hair- even less time than most of my clients,  and I couldn’t find a place that could effectively style hair in an aesthetically apt, efficient and long-lasting way. My salon solved this problem. Additionally, it frustrated me that many people go to salons solely for a wash and style, because their hair was cut in a way that’s difficult to restyle. As such, I’ve created a practice that makes hair styling easy for my client in a lasting way.  And I’m proud to say that I’ve really made my clients dreams come true by having put myself in their shoes. I’m passionate about promoting my “Hair Clinic” concept because like a good doctor, I care deeply about getting my client into the best health possible, albeit emotional, spiritual health. Aside from making folks look gorgeous, I do my best to provide spiritual warmth empowering my clients to be self-confident, expressive and alive.

I think what I’m doing is in line with the “right intuition” and will be a powerful and positive trend of the future.

“TEMPO Hair Clinic” www.tempohair.com.tw was a manifestation of a decade-long dream and positively effected the lives of countless people enriching their lives in ways the go beyond their hair style. Now a exhilarating new dream is being conceived, and in it I see these unique skills and positive energy affecting even more people all around the world!
